This microlearning module was created for residents of The Lakes of Northdale, an apartment community in Tampa, Florida. Despite signing detailed leases and policy agreements, residents frequently violated community rules, often claiming they were unaware of them. The goal of this project was to present the most commonly violated rules in a fun, engaging, and memorable way, helping to improve adherence and foster a better community experience.
Process
Analysis:
- Consulted with the leasing team to identify the most frequently violated community rules and understand the context of resident behavior.
- Defined specific learning objectives aimed at reducing rule violations.
Design
- Organized rules into a concise, easy-to-understand format.
- Used real-life scenarios and examples to make the rules relatable and relevant to residents.
Development
- Designed the microlearning module using Articulate Storyline to include interactive elements, such as quizzes and decision-making scenarios.
- Created visually appealing graphics in Adobe Photoshop, incorporating neighborhood-specific imagery to make the content resonate with residents.
Implementation
- Delivered the module as a digital resource accessible via email or the community portal, ensuring easy access for all residents.
Outcomes and Insights
The leasing team reported positive feedback, noting reduced complaints and increased resident awareness of community rules. The fun, interactive format boosted resident engagement, leading to improved compliance with key policies and fostering a more harmonious living environment.
Microlearning proved to be an effective solution for addressing recurring issues by presenting information in a concise and engaging way. Collaborating with stakeholders ensured the solution directly addressed the audience’s needs. Additionally, a visually appealing and fun design made even mundane topics engaging and memorable.
