Work with Me

A headache isn’t an asprin deficiency.

Performance isn’t always a training deficiency.

A headache isn't a Tylenol deficiency.

A performance gap isn't always a training deficiency.

Wait, what? An instructional designer who doesn’t think courses are always the answer? Yep. You read that right.

You’ve probably heard the saying: when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Too often, training becomes that hammer — the default fix for every performance problem. But here’s the truth: sometimes, a course isn’t the solution.

Figuring out what’s broken, why it happened, and how to fix it shouldn’t feel like guesswork. You’ve got enough on your plate. Performance issues shouldn’t be one more thing to untangle.

Performance problems typically fall into one of three categories:

WILL

They know how, but they’re not motivated.

HILL

They’re willing and able, but systems, time, or process are getting in the way.

SKILL

They don't know what to do or how to do it.

I solve SKILL problems.

I work with organizations in regulated industries to design training that builds skill and supports certification. The goal is always the same: make learning useful, accurate, and tied to real job performance.

That starts with understanding the problem. Here’s how I approach it.

Analysis

Every great solution starts with understanding the problem. I dig into data, context, and goals to get a clear picture of the challenge and define how learning can make a difference.

Design

With the problem defined, it’s time to craft the solution. I’ll develop a learning strategy, set objectives, and create storyboards or prototypes to visualize the solution. This keeps the process focused and avoids wasted effort later.

Development

This phase of the project is where ideas come to life. Using tools like Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360, I built the course.  In this phase, I  turn concepts into interactive eLearning modules, job aids, or training resources.

Implementation

The success of a learning project relies on smooth execution and seamless delivery. From launch preparation to rollout support, I handle the logistics, minimizing disruptions so your team can focus on learning and achieving results.

Iteration

I treat iteration as part of the process, not something that comes later. As we build, I adjust based on feedback, testing, and what we learn along the way. That makes the final product stronger and easier to maintain once it’s in use.
